Martin Design & Development
Construction is the foundation. Development is the work.
Martin Design & Development is a property and project-development practice focused on productive rural property and small commercial development.
The Martin family has worked in construction across East Texas for generations. Founder Robyn Martin grew up around the building trades and on a working cutting-horse farm, later adding experience in real estate and business development.
Those worlds come together in projects involving ranch and equestrian property, adaptive reuse, small professional buildings and boutique retail.
The work
We develop the physical direction of a project and bring the required disciplines together around it.
We work with property owners, businesses and project sponsors to establish what a building or site should become and move that idea toward a defined project.
The work may continue through real estate, estimating, design development and coordination with the professional and construction teams carrying the project forward.
Projects of our own
We also develop selected concepts and venture projects.
These may begin as a building type, a redevelopment idea, a repeatable commercial format or a response to a property need that is not being served well by the existing market.
Concepts and projects are featured through Tierra Encantada.
Founder
Robyn Martin
Robyn Martin’s background spans construction, real estate and business development.
She grew up in East Texas in a family with deep construction experience and around a working cutting-horse operation. That combination continues to shape the kinds of property the company takes seriously: places that have to function, support an operation and earn their space.
Her work through Rural Exports also brings the company into contact with founders, operators and companies whose growth can eventually create a need for land, facilities, offices or commercial space.
